The cheque below (signed by Russell Ambrose) was the paltry out of court settlement payment he gave me for damaging my eyes. £4,000 was deducted to pay for NHS treatment up until the settlement. This is fine that the NHS gets their payment but the truth is that it wasn't paid over until I had contacted the DWP special unit CRU to chase up the payment. They told me they don't chase payments for two years, and only then do they look into it for collection.
It seems that the reality is that payments that should reach the NHS hardly ever get paid over.
The real crime here is that we are left with lifetime problems and these companies should pay, but instead the NHS are left to help us help us in time of cuts and austerity.
I am going blind, and I am the Ashley you can hear talking to Danny Kelly at the end of this interview last week: www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p02qrph4
I do not have a gagging order and will talk to anyone I want about what Optimax did to my eyes.
I hope this information is helpful to others.

Thanks Optimax for my 'life changing' laser eye surgery. It's certainly that.

He has told me to go and see him if the Conservatives get in and he will badger the new health minister - which he said we will have. I said fine but be prepared how shocking my story is. Yet again another person suffering.

This as far as I am concerned is Optimax's attempt to remove as much of the truth as possible before the media bomb hits them where it hurts £$£$£$ - also Mr Abs surely has been paid off????
Listen to his video and It's obvious he's been paid off and scuttled into a rat hole somewhere to count his pennies. I can't wait to see him and Russell Ambrose tell this to the judge when Sasha's court case is heard this year.

Shame on you Optimax!

Posted 29 Mar 2015 10:04 #178I've seen lots of 'specialists' and been told I don't have a serious dry eye problem. I don't use eye drops, just a heat bag at night.
I feel that my vision is a bit better when the sun is shining (pupil at tiniest).
My vision is worst in normal daylight, for example just on a normal cloudy day, I can't get the sharpness of vision at all, and this causes eye strain/headaches etc.
My problems are seeming extremely difficult to diagnose.
Which Optimax clinic did you go to and who was your surgeon? Mine was Seethappa Madhusudhan, same as Ashley Bures (Mr Abs)

I hardly think that these people are fit to give out information, as they are ignorant.
The Optimax brochure compared treatment to a trip to the dentist, played down the risks and led me to believe that if you are unlucky enough to suffer a complication (they don't mention that these tend to come in groups), time or retreatment would put it right. This is of course not necessarily true.
The Optimax glossary of terms also plays down complications, and in my opinion is down right dishonest. These people don't want us to have the information we need to make a decision, because most of us would run a mile if we knew the truth when offered the consent form.

The problem is that you are sat in a warm atmosphere with 'Happy' posters on the walls and lots of 'thank-you' cards about and lulled into a false sense of security.
Consent forms were signed there so there was little time to read through or fully appreciate the downsides of the procedure. And no-one who should have gone through the procedure and possible downsides to discuss it with you.
I will update further in due course but in the meantime here's a photo of the 'thank-you' cards I took at Optimax a few weeks ago. Funnily enough we noticed a few days ago that they'd all been taken down leaving only the 'happy' posters on the walls.
